Hastelloy Alloy Strips
Material system and composition characteristics
- Core grades:
- C series: such as C-276 (Ni-Cr-Mo-W), C-22, resistant to oxidizing/reducing acid and chloride ion corrosion;
- B series: such as B-3 (Ni-Mo), focusing on resistance to non-oxidizing acids such as hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid;
- G series: such as G-35 (Ni-Cr-Mo-Cu), resistant to phosphoric acid and fluorine-containing media corrosion.
- Composition advantages:
- C-276 contains 16% Mo + 5% W, and has outstanding resistance to wet chlorine and hypochlorite pitting corrosion;
- B-3 has a 28% Mo content and is resistant to 70% hydrochloric acid corrosion at room temperature.
Performance advantages
1. Corrosion resistance
- Strong corrosive media resistance:
- Resistance to boiling 65% nitric acid and 50% sulfuric acid corrosion rate <0.1mm/year;
- Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) resistance in seawater, salt spray and Cl⁻-containing media, pitting potential >1.2V (vs SCE).
2. Mechanical and processing properties
- High strength and toughness:
- Room temperature tensile strength ≥730MPa, elongation ≥40%, can be cold-bent;
- Excellent oxidation resistance at high temperature (500℃~1000℃), C-276 weight gain in air oxidation at 1200℃ <0.5mg/cm².
- Processing adaptability:
- Cold-rolled hardness ≤220HB, can be stamped, coiled or precision sheared, suitable for manufacturing complex thin-walled parts;
- Good weldability, can be welded by argon arc welding (TIG), no risk of intergranular corrosion after welding
Specifications and manufacturing process
1. Size range
- Thickness: 0.05mm~3mm (foil to strip);
